About Advance BJJ and Fitness
At Advance BJJ and Fitness, established in June 2020 in Jakarta Barat and have quickly grown to establish ourselves as the biggest and best BJJ gym in West Jakarta.
We are delighted to be associated with one of the most well respected and established organisations throughout the world in “Gracie Barra Indonesia" and "Equipe Titan”.
The huge advantage of being part of such a huge association is that with Alisson Braga, 4th Degree Black Belt in Jakarta, and Bruno Amourim, 4th Degree Black Belt in Singapore, we have 2 amazing Professor to help and guide us to grow Advance BJJ and Fitness. We will work closely to develop and grow our join programme to align with their philosophies and teachings.
An Introduction to BJJ trial class is offered to all students at Advance BJJ and Fitness to experience what it is genuinely like to train in the discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. All visitors are welcome both local and International.
With over 15 years of experience, we dedicate our training to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, mainly in the Gi and weekly classes in No Gi classes. We will offer a dedicated kids training programme focusing on fun, discipline and learning to help focus and develop confidence in kids, aswell as learning essential defence and attack methods.
Adult Beginners classes are our most popular area, with intermediate classes and pure rolling available too. Most notable and significant point of our academy is the curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to get the most from our students, whether they want to compete and challenge themselves on the mats, or they want to be in a sport where they can grow and develop for the rest of their lives. Also within our training, you will learn valuable techniques and mechanisms to enable you to be able to defend and attack in a situation off the mats, which we feel is crucial in this day and age.
We offer a new training facility where we have a multi level indoor and training space which we use for BJJ, and Strength & Conditioning classes; also a small but well equipped gym - this is rare in the city of Jakarta and a huge benefit to our students wishing to learn the sport.
Our academy is located in Meruya, West Jakarta area where we have the ONLY foreign trained Black Belt Professor in the area, with our brand-new facility, brand new equipment and dedicated coaches. We are just minutes, sometimes in walking distance, of many restaurants, coffee shops and shopping mall, and also just off the toll road. Places to visit around the academy include: Jakarta Aquarium, Museum MACAN, Central Park mall, and only 20 mins from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

Jiu-Jitsu for Everyone!
Gracie Barra Indonesia was first established in 2017. Our headquarters is situated in L'Avenue Offices and Residences, South Jakarta.
Gracie Barra Indonesia offers a wide variety of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for both Adults and Kids, including private classes (upon request). The age range for our kids classes is between 4 to 12 years. Children under the age of 4 will be accepted into the class at the instructor’s discretion.
At Gracie Barra, our belt and stripe grading system is at the discretion of the instructor who is trained to assess members based on their progress daily across a period of time, so students of our school can be rest assured that the level that they have been awarded here is of the highest standards.
Besides offering quality BJJ instruction, Gracie Barra believes in giving our students a safe, clean, and warm environment where they can feel right at home. We believe that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is much more than a martial art or sport, but a community of friends and family, on and off the mat.
Equipe Titan is founded by Professor Bruno Amorim and Professor Alisson Braga.
The word "equipe" in Portuguese means "team" Despite being called Team Titan, this team grows to be more of a family.
Now we have 3 affiliations in Indonesia, with Advance BJJ, along with one is situated in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta and another Semarang, Central Java.

WE COACH THE ELITE!
In October 2020, we started to coach an Elite Division of the Jakarta Police called “ResMob”.
The division is a specialist Detective division who serve and protect the people, based in the city of Jakarta.
These guys have an incredibly difficult role in enforcing the laws of the Country and need the best training around to ensure that their self defence skills are as current as can be. With BJJ fast becoming a worldwide martial art and developing day by day, ResMob decided that it was time to add this skill to their arsenal and contacted us at Advance BJJ and Fitness to teach them and coach them.
We accepted this offer with pride and honour that we can help them to make a difference.
Professor Andy Travis - Advance BJJ and Fitness
Andy started his martial arts career in 1980 when he took up karate, and gained his black belt in 1993 where he represented Great Britain in International Competition. He owned /coached at a Karate Club in his home town for a couple of years to coach and share knowledge.
Andy became a Certified Fitness and Nutrition coach in 1995 and went on to Personal Training for a few years.
After an extended break, Andy started MMA and mainly BJJ in 2011 in the UK at the tender age of 37 years old under now Third Degree Black Belt Professor Paul Rice and overseen by the organisation Head Coach, Professor Lucio Sergio Dos Santos.
He has competed extensively around the UK from 2012-2016 where he has many medals from the IBJJF London Open, British Open and local competitions around Manchester. More recently he won Gold at the IBJJF Asian Open 2024, the biggest tournament in Asia.
Andy trained in the UK for 9 years and gained a vast amount of experience and knowledge from many top Black Belts and regular seminars. All belts in the UK where been awarded by Lucio Sergio Dos Santos and Lucio Sergio BJJ Lifestyle organisation. Lucio being a 4th degree black belt, and current World Heavy Weight Champion, UK Ranked No 1 and Winner of the Heavy Weight division at the recent Euros.
From landing in Jakarta in July 2019, Andy joined De Been 100% Jiu Jitsu and trained and coached there for 9 months, until he was in a position to launch Advance BJJ and Fitness.
Our full affiliation move to DeBeen 100% Jiu Jitsu in August 2021 signified the ambition of both Andy and the team to grow under the expert tuition of Peter DeBeen, and the next few years where a further learning curve in Andy's journey of BJJ.
Andy achieved his BJJ Black Belt in May 2022 from Professor Peter DeBeen, 6th Degree Black Belt and direct descendant of Carlos Gracie, however Andy and Advance BJJ Changed affiliations to Gracie Barra Indonesia and Equipe Titan in 2025 in order to work closer with his locally based peers and to develop his students even further.
Andy has also become certified in a second Personal Training area, Martial Arts Covid 19 Certified
and First Aid.
In June 2024, Andy took the decision to go back to the competition mat, and entered the IBJJF Asian Open in Japan, where his hard work and dedication earned him a Gold Medal in the Black Belt Master 5 Heavyweight Division.

Alisson Braga - Head Professor
Gracie Barra Indonesia
.Professor Alisson “Marmota” Braga is a fourth degree black belt from Gracie Barra Belo Horizonte under the legendary Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes. He has been training BJJ for over 20 years, and received his black belt in 2010. An active competitor in the Martial Art, Professor Alisson has won many national and international titles during his years of training, including 2 CBJJE World Championships and Gold at the IBJJF Manila Open 2018 and 2019. Before coming to Indonesia, Professor Alisson taught BJJ in Brazil and Singapore, and is also a professional physiotherapist, gaining his degree from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais.
